Selenite is a variety of gypsum characterized by transparent sheets. It is a very soft mineral, and has natural thermal insulating properties, feeling warm to the touch. Most selenite sold, including the material of these bracelets, is actually a variety known as satin spar, which is more silky and fibrous and has a milky translucence. It seems lit from within when exposed to a direct light source.
The name selenite comes from the Greek goddess Selene, the Goddess of the Moon. Selenite brings this divine feminine energy to purify, clear, and uplift the energy in your home. Some reiki practitioners use selenite wands to clear and align the chakras in their treatments.
