Citrine is a brownish-yellowish variety of quartz. Most citrine on the market is made by heating natural amethyst. The iron mineral inclusions change the color from purple to yellow. This is different from ‘natural’ citrine, which gets its browner, more honey color from either natural irradiation/heating, or from gently heating certain types of smoky quartz. Ultimately, it is impossible to truly identify completely natural citrine. However, it is fairly easy to identify the heat-treated amethyst variety of citrine by its bright gold to orange-brown color and opaque white sections.
Citrine has a sunny, bright energy that increases happiness, joy, and positivity. It is also known to be helpful for manifesting wealth and abundance.

Note: These beads were marketed as natural citrine, but are likely heat-treated, at least somewhat. As mentioned above, it is impossible to truly tell. I've included a picture that shows the true color of the beads without the yellow elastic impacting the color.
